Ten people who visited the virtual USA Pavilion at www.expo.com were given a VIP tour of the real one yesterday after winning the pavilion's VIP access in an online lucky draw.
Each of them received a gift package containing a Teddy bear and souvenirs of the USA Pavilion. They were also treated to hamburgers and fries.
Zhang Huizhu, a Shanghai resident, was among the luckiest of the group as her husband and daughter also won the lucky draw to visit the USA Pavilion out of tens of thousands of participants. "Our first reaction was that the system had a glitch until we received a confirmation call from the staff," she said.
Zhu Xiaoqing, a Netizen of Shanghai, won a VIP trip to the Norway Pavilion on Friday via a similar lucky draw. His gifts included tickets for Secret Garden's concert in Shanghai in September.
