BEIJING -- The Chinese mainland will encourage its film and television companies to introduce more TV series from Taiwan and to conduct joint-production, a spokeswoman for the State Council's Taiwan Affairs Office (SCTAO) said at a regular press briefing Wednesday.

Spokeswoman Fan Liqing made the remarks while unveiling a slew of new measures to promote cross-Strait film and television exchanges.
