The 9th Shandong—Taiwan Trade Fair was recently held in Weifang City. The event was sponsored by the Shandong Provincial Government, co-sponsored by the Economic Bureau of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, and organized by the Shandong Provincial Office of Taiwan Affairs and the Weifang Municipal Government. Through joint efforts, the trade fair turned out fruitful. 117 contracts and agreements on Taiwan and foreign investment projects were signed, with the contractual and agreed Taiwan and foreign investment being US$830 million, of which, 74 were contractual projects, with the contractual Taiwan and foreign investment of US$510 million, and 43 were agreed projects, with the contractual Taiwan and foreign investment of US$320 million. The number of big projects with an investment of over US$10 million for each was 33, 18 of which were contractual projects. 57 export contracts were signed, with the export value being US$110 million, and the contract price of foreign contractual labor scoring US$610 thousand. In addition, a large quantity of domestic investment projects was signed. These figures made this event the most fruitful one since 1994.
