As an important part of Fujian-Taiwan trade and economic cooperation, agricultural cooperation has worked effectively to promote the opening up of the Province’s agriculture, and the development of modern agriculture. Preliminary statistics show, the Province has so far attracted a total of over 1500 Taiwan-funded agricultural enterprises, with a contractual utilized Taiwan investment of US$1.8 billion, and an actual investment of US$1.1 billion. The Taiwan-funded agricultural enterprises have served to optimize the Province’s agricultural product structure. According to statistics, Fujian has introduced in, through various channels, over 1500 improved varieties from Taiwan, which have been popularized and applied on a large scale. Besides, the Province also introduced in a lot of advanced agricultural production technologies, and production and processing equipment from Taiwan, which have boosted the sci-tech level of local agricultural production.
