| Taiwan Investment in the Mainland Surged in First 5 Months |

Latest statistics from the Taiwan’s “Ministry of Economy” show that in the first 5 months of this year, the project number and investment of Taiwan business in the Mainland increased 55.66 per cent and 43.69 per cent respectively over the same period of last year, indicating that Taiwan business are very confident in the economic growth in the Mainland.
According to data released by the Commission of Investment Examination of the Ministry of Economy of the Taiwan administration,from Jan.to May, Taiwan business invested in 797 projects in the Mainland, with the investment authorized by the administration exceeding US$1.734 billion. In May alone, with the approval of the administration, Taiwan business invested in 138 projects in the Mainland, an increase of 1 per cent over the previous month, with the investment being close to US$318 million, up by 4 per cent over the previous month.
