Setting up three State-level investment zones for Taiwan firms in Haicang, Xinglin and Jimei in sequence, Xiamen has established a platform for trade and economic cooperation with Taiwan by such moves in the city as running China investment and trade forums and commodity exchange fairs for exports to Taiwan.

　　Xiamen has more than 2,100 enterprises with investment made by Taiwan businessmen. Of these enterprises, 54 are the ones whose investment scale exceeds US$10 million. Of the top 100 firms in Taiwan, 17 have subsidiaries in Xiamen. The cumulative contractual investment from Taiwan firms is US$5.8 billion, and US$4.4 billion has been paid in. Succeeding in connection with industries in Taiwan, Xiamen has become one of the focused destinations on the mainland for investment from Taiwan.
