Chinese Cultural Week inaugurated in Trivandrum on March 4 2004, which also indicates the first Chinese Cultural Week in southwest India.
The cultural week features a series of activities including: "Beautiful China" photo exhibition, seven movies (Hero, The Marriage Certificate and China into the New Millennium etc.), book exhibition and donation, and seminars etc. The whole event lasts to March 13.
In the morning of March 4, the opening ceremony was held in the Cultural Center of Kerala.
India and China are both among the great ancient civilizations. Kerala had a long tradition of frequent trading exchanges with China in history. |
