Co-sponsored by the Chinese embassy in Portugal and the Portuguese Ministry of Culture, a new photo exhibition -- "World Cultural Heritage in China" - has kicked off at the Mother of Water Museum in Lisbon, Portugal, March 5.
Charge d'Affaires Ad Interim of the Chinese Embassy in Portugal Duan Juhua and cultural counselor Lu Desheng appeared for the opening ceremonies. The photos exhibited attracted governmental officials and friends from various walks of life, who participated in the ceremony. The photos provided audiences with a good chance to appreciate China's grand natural scenery and its brilliant culture. The participants all expressed their admiration for the great contributions China has made to world culture.
According to the President of the Portuguese Committee under the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO): "World cultural heritage in China has its profound cultural origin and gives out a sense of mystique". The former viceroy of Portugal in Macao said that such exhibitions are the most convenient forms for promoting the understanding and friendship between China and Portugal.
The local media in Portugal devoted extensive coverage to the exhibition, which will last until March 20. |
