The opening ceremony of "Beautiful China" photo show opened on February 23, 2004 in Kaduna, Nigeria. Chinese ambassador to Nigeria Mr. Wang Yongqiu and Acting Governor of Kaduna State Stephen Shakari spoke at the ceremony. More than 300 people attended the ceremony.
In his speech, Mr. Wang briefly introduced Chinese cultural heritage with a history of 5,000 years and the stable economic development propelled by the reform and opening-up policy. He said this exhibition would enhance Nigerians' understanding of China.
Co-sponsored by China's embassy in Nigeria and the government of Kaduna State, the photo show lasted till March 4 and altogether attracted over 8,000 visitors. |
