| Young Chinese pianist tickles ivories in Vienna |

At the invitation of the prime minister's office of Austria, Kong Xiangdong will be the first Chinese pianist to perform at the Golden Hall in Vienna June 20.
The prime minister's office of Austria holds various international activities annually. At the end of 2003, the young pianist was invited to hold a solo concert at the Golden Hall.
"Vienna has always been known as the capital of music. I am happy to also the have the privilege to perform in Salzburg, which is the hometown of Mozart and Haydn," said Kong.
Kong has prepared more than 10 works especially for the concert. Besides works by classic western composers like Mozart, Schubert and Liszt, Kong will also perform five works by famed Chinese composer He Luting.
The large-scale piano piece by Kong "Feng, Ya, Song - Confucius Rhapsody " is also expected to be completed in May. It will make its debut in Qufu, the hometown of Confucius, Shandong Province in September. |
