Taiwan audience dazzled by Buddhist music show
   日期:2004-02-27 14:39        编辑: system        来源:

Hundreds of monks from Taiwan and the Chinese mainland gathered in Taipei on the night of Feb.24 to present a special concert of Buddhist music. This may have been the first time there has ever been a concert like this, bringing together Buddhist music in the three different languages of Chinese, Tibetan and Pali. And there was drama in show with Buddhist dancing and Shaolin martial arts.
The monks from Fujian, Gansu, Beijing, Yunnan, Guangdong and Taiwan blessed the 3,000 people in the audience with merit from Buddha. Buddhism first came to China 2000 years ago. It gradually became absorbed into Chinese culture, to become an important part of Chinese tradition. Over the centuries, Buddhism separated into different schools, but as the process of internationalization speeds up, Buddhists are also trying to break the barriers between these different schools.
Some say that Buddhism is not just a religion, but also a way of life. They say that through this practice one can find the truth of reality. But that doesn't stop many people praying to the Buddha to give them love and happiness.
