| Chinese Character -- From Oracle to Computer exhibition opens in Auckland |

As part of the series of activities celebrating Chinese Spring Festival, the exhibition titled "Chinese Characters -- From Oracle to Computer" kicked off on February 18 at the University of Auckland. Professors and students from different schools of the university and friends from various walks of life showed up at the opening ceremony. Chinese Consul General in Auckland Lu Bin and Dean of the School of Literature of the University of Auckland addressed the participants of the ceremony.
Visitors to the exhibition were much attracted by the elegance and the idiographic structure of Chinese character and they all expressed their admiration for the profundity of Chinese culture. There were some learners of Chinese language who felt the exhibition was of great significance to their study.
Owing to extensive publicity, the exhibition received widespread attention from the very beginning. At present, more than 20 groups of different schools and organizations have booked tickets.
The exhibition was co-organized by the Consulate General of People's Republic of China in Auckland and the University of Auckland and will last until March 20. |
