The final preparatory meeting for the Asia-Europe conference on cultures and civilizations outlined the conference's agenda and presidential declaration here Tuesday.
The senior officials' meeting held Tuesday afternoon passed the planned agenda and presidential declaration of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM)'s first ministers meeting on culture which will begin on Wednesday.
According to the agenda, the conference will include four plenary sessions and three group discussions.
About 200 delegates will discuss issues like "cultural diversity under globalization", "unity in diversity" and "follow-up action of the meeting".
Ding Wei, director of the Chinese Culture Ministry International Division, said the meeting was proposed by China, Denmark, France, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore at the fourth ASEM summit meeting in 2002 and was later written into the presidential declaration as a key follow-up action of the meeting.
