| Environmental friendly buses to debut |

China has announced a plan to buy six hydrogen-powered buses for trial operations in Beijing and Shanghai to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emission.
The buses, unlike those that use gas as fuel, will not pollute the air as they would discharge only water and heat.
The Chinese Government, the Global Environment Facility and the United Nations Development Program have committed more than 32 million US dollars in funding support for the trial operation program.
The government hopes the environmentally friendly buses can be manufactured in China in great numbers and eventually replace conventionally fueled public transport vehicles. |
