China will establish more than 700 wetland natural reserves nationwide, with a goal of protecting over 90 percent of natural wetlands by 2030.
Sources with the State Forestry Bureau say wetland protection plays a vital role in shielding source water and migrating animals' habitats.
In recent years, China has beefed up supervision and management on wetland natural reserves. And infrastructure construction and relevant facilities have been greatly improved. |
