Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao stresses major efforts should be made to increase the country's forest cover.
Speaking at a conference on forestry in Beijing, Wen Jiabao said forests should be well protected. He urges local governments to do well in reforesting some of the cultivated land in line with local conditions.
The premier also calls on society at large to plant more trees.
