WHO: World could benefit from Guangdong experience
日期: 2003-05-19 12:12         编辑: system         来源:

The World Health Organization is upbeat about the progress made by China's Guangdong province in combating SARS as the number of local cases continues to decline.

A group of WHO experts completed their second inspection tour of the province in South China on Tuesday. Guangdong was among the first and hardest hit by the killer disease. The health experts said Guangdong now has a wellestablished SARS reporting and control system which helped it to contain the spread of the fatal virus in a short time.

On this tour, the WHO experts offered help to local medical staff in analyzing the data collected over the past few months. Their cooperation is expected to facilitate the publication of China's SARS research in international medical journals so that other infected countries can draw some lessons from the province's experience.
