Japan will provide China with more medical supplies to help the country fight SARS.

Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Yu Guangzhou and Japanese Ambassador to China Koreshige Anami have exchanged diplomatic notes in Beijing on the aid, worth about 12 and a half million US dollars.

The materials mainly include respirators and X-ray machines, as well as other medical equipment for the treatment and prevention of the disease. They will be sent to some SARS-hit regions in China.

This is the largest foreign aid for SARS China has received since the outbreak of the disease. Before this, the Japanese government had provided more than 1.7 million thousand US dollars' worth of emergency aid to China through a bilateral framework on technological cooperation.
