HONG KONG -- Taiwan's share prices closed higher Wednesday with the weighted index up 29.21 points, or 0.4 percent, to close at 7,391.15, according to news reaching here from Taipei.

The local bourse fluctuated between 7,405.3 and 7,366.4 during the day's trading. Turnover totaled 62.56 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 2.09 billion U.S. dollars).
